Play & Learn provides a safe and nurturing environment designed to give your child the confidence for their next step on the educational ladder. We provide 4 different departments to suit your child’s age:

The Baby Room
(3 – 18 months)

First Steps
(18 – 30 months)

Little People
(30 – 36 months)

Pre-School
(36 – 60 months)

OUR FACILITIES IN SUTTON COLDFIELD

Operating on 2 floors, we have an upstairs terrace which enables our Baby Room and First Steps children access to the outdoors on a daily basis. Downstairs there is a large outdoor space which is accessible to all ages. Different age groups enjoy this outdoor space at different times throughout the day.

DELICIOUS AND HEALTHY SNACKS & MEALS

As part of our service we provide a snack twice daily which is made up of a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. We also have a hot meal at lunchtimes which is prepared daily by Food Safety & Hygiene qualified staff. In the early evening we also have a cold snack meal with a dessert. An example of our daily menu would be:

  • Breakfast – cereal & toast
  • Snack (am) – pineapple, apple and plums
  • Lunch – Homemade beef ragu with pasta bows
  • Pudding – Homemade apple and cinnamon pinwheels
  • Tea – Roasted red pepper hummus with breadsticks and salad sticks

  • Care and education from 3 months to 5 years
  • Extended days from 7.00am – 6.30pm or standard days from 8.00am – 5.00pm
  • 2 free 1 hour settling sessions

Claire Hodgetts

Nursery manager & Director of Children’s’ Learning and Development

‘Hi I’m Claire. I worked alongside the directors of Play & Learn for a year prior to opening the doors. I helped to plan the layout of the building and to create the ethos of care given to the children. I began working as the nursery manager in March 2013 before moving on to become Director of Children’s Learning and Development. I am one of the nurseries Designated safeguarding leads.’

‘Hi I’m Kirsty. I Joined Play & Learn in August 2013 as a nursery practitioner. I worked my way up through roles and was promoted to Deputy manager in 2016, I am currently the nursery SendCo and one of the Designated safeguarding leads (DSL)’.
