LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
AT PLAY & LEARN
Play and learn has a newly formed literacy room with an abundance of resources, this is accessed in small groups from babies up to preschool. This room focuses on cognitive development and the foundations of language. It is also used for 1:1 support for children with additional needs.
Arranged over two floors, our four departments and literacy room with an abundance of resources, this is accessed in
small groups from babies up to preschool. This room focuses on cognitive development and the foundations of language.
Natural light floods into the open plan learning areas which are spacious and well organised, with a wealth of easily accessible toys and equipment, chosen to support all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
The den is a newly formed room here at Play and Learn, it brings a calming zone for children to explore and unwind in.
The den has a mixture of wooden toys and natural objects alongside stories, stackers and instruments. The room is aimed to provide a space for small groups to explore and engage in calming activities such as yoga and singing.
The den is also a perfect space for our children with additional support needs. It provides them with opportunities to engage in small group activities with their key person and peers.
Outside the emphasis on learning continues. Our garden is our ‘outdoor classroom’ and used to promote healthy physical development, language, numbers and science. Your child will enjoy quiet play, sand and water fun, digging in the bark kitchen, gardening as well as climbing frames and space for running jumping and bike riding.
Younger children have a specially built terrace equipped with outdoor toys, a little climbing frame, and soft mats are laid down so even our smallest babies enjoy the fresh air.
